Konversi dari minyak tanah ke LPG yang dilakukan pemerintah, mendapat banyak tanggapan dari masyarakat. Ada yang setuju dan ada yang tidak. Ada masyarakat yang tidak setuju mungkin karena takut akan bahaya dari menggunakan LPG seperti yang sering kita lihat di televisi. Berita-berita seperti rumah terbakar karena ledakan gas, orang meninggal karena ledakan gas, dan lain-lain membuat kebanyakan orang takut menggunakan gas LPG. Kejadian ini sebagian berawal dari kelalaian dalam pemasangan dan pemeliharaan tabung serta kompor. Akibatnya, kebocoran gas pun terjadi dan menyulut kebakaran. Selain itu, beredarnya tabung elpiji palsu juga menjadi salah satu penyebabnya. Padahal, kalau kita paham dan cermat dalam menggunakan gas, serta memakai dengan cara yang benar, tidak akan terjadi hal-hal seperti itu. Berikut ini hal-hal yang disarankan bagi para pengguna LPG di rumah.

1. Ketahui sifat elpiji. Elpiji adalah campuran berbagai unsur hidrokarbon yang berasal dari gas alam. Dengan menambah tekanan dan menurunkan suhunya, gas berubah menjadi cair. Karena itu elpiji dipasarkan dalam bentuk cair di tabung-tabung logam bertekanan. Elpiji memiliki sifat berikut:

GAWAT ! TSUNAMI MATAHARI Hari Ini (Selasa, 3 Agustus 2010)

Ilmuwan-ilmuwan hari ini memperingatkan terjadinya tsunami. Tsunami kali ini bukanlah tsunami biasa. Tsunami dimaksud adalah tsunami matahari. Matahari diperkirakan akan mengirimkan tsunami ke Bumi pada hari ini, Selasa (3/8). Tsunami matahari ini akan melanda daerah kutub utara dan selatan. Tsunami yang akan terjadi ini akan terlihat seperti aurora di langit. Para ilmuwan menjelaskan bahwa di matahari terjadi ledakan sangat besar yang terjadi di permukaan matahari. Dikhawatirkan, tsunami matahari ini akan merusak satelit-satelit di sekitar bumi, sehingga sistem komunikasi di bumi akan terganggu.
